European Space Agency Business Incubation Centre (ESA BIC) Czech Republic creates opportunities for space-related projects and re-purposing space technology. ESA BIC Prague was founded in 2016, and two years later, it was joined by a branch in Brno. Both incubators provide an incubation program for up to 2 years. The program includes financial support (50 000 EUR non-equity funding) and professional business and technical mentoring.
ESA BIC Czech Republic is part of the ESA Commercialisation Gateway network with more than 25 business incubation centres. They all work regionally to inspire entrepreneurs to turn space-connected business ideas into commercial companies.
More than 1200 startups have been supported by the network to this day. The local operator for the Czech Republic is the CzechInvest Agency in partnership with the City of Prague, the South Moravian Innovation Centre, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Transport, and the South Moravian Innovation Centre.
